this year amalea and isabel performed on friday, june 11th and saturday, june 12th respectively. here are the beautiful ballerinas themselves.

she was oohing and ahhing like this even when she got to the green box - she was extremely excited to be opening presents!

bel: where do we come from?

me (mom): heaven.

bel: and they turn us into humans?

me: yes.

bel: (after a thoughtful pause) what the!?

friday evening, april 30th at the kitchen table during a tornado watch...

amalea: i cannot believe that the tornado is coming to our house!

isabel: is the tornado mean or nice?

me: mean

isabel: (in a weepy voice) i don't want the tornado to come to our house.

saturday, may 1st after a wrestling match with her sister...

amalea: (all said while hacking) i think i'm allergic to sisters.

mind you, all drama experienced within 3 consecutive days.
