halloween eve and day

the winged family at a halloween eve party. (jason wanted to be a "fairy killer". that just wouldn't have been right.)

and now for the close-ups.

a little bit of sisterly monkey-see, monkey do.

fall is not fall without the pumpkin patch

our autumnal trip to goebbert's pumpkin patch had an interesting thread this year, one of "riding atop" things.

the fight broke out on the school bus (isabel wanted to be at the wheel).
always a favorite: the pony ride.

look who "falls" on by

little tallulah waldron brought her mom and dad to visit us at the lakehouse in mid-september.

here are the girls each striking their own unique poses.
ta-dah! the entire family 'o warr.

summer...gone to the frogs

summer truly is gone now, and autumn almost as well. and since snow flurries are currently coming down, let's relive a few last moments of summer with: the frogs that reside under the paddle/kayak/sail boats, a sandcastle that just will not go away (it is sitting on the beach frozen), and the 3 girls (with the boy photographer).

words from the wise

the 3 girls having a female discussion in the bathroom this past saturday night...

amalea comments on why her chest is more sunk in and isabel's looks pinched out.

mom explains that some girls and women have breasts. and have to wear what is called a bra. amalea knows all about those 2 circley things with straps.

amalea, with eyes circles wide, states that isabel is going to have these (and as she says "these" she makes as if to gauge the size with her 2 hands of some rather large invisible breasts on her own chest).

hmmmmm...

another summer to grow on

with hair comingled the sisters fondly reflect on the glorious summer spent in one another's company.

summer at the lakehouse part 2

our time at the lakehouse has been the epitome of peace. what a blessed way to have lived our summer.

these photos speak for themselves - our beautiful little girls.

in the end, amalea summed it all up by saying, "mom, i want to go to college by the ocean so that i can surf every day."

summer at the lakehouse part 1

the 3 girls started living at the lakehouse for the summer beginning on thursday, june 17. the 1 boy joins us on the weekends.

a super cool isabel conversation...
isabel: how old are teenagers?
me (mom): 13 or 14 or 15...
isabel:...or 3 like me!

now some photos to document our days...

we took a boat ride out on castle rock lake for the first time. the water was the color of copper and had spiky green hairs floating in it. we chose to keep it clean and stayed on the boat. isabel kept saying, "lets go fast!"
